Press releases from Public Relations should receive proper credit. For example, a press release that is published verbatim would receive a PR byline; an article that is largely reported by a student writer, with background information drawn from a press release, need not explicitly credit the PR office. At times, when significant information is drawn from a release, it will be appropriate for a Record reporter to share byline credit with the Public Relations office.

Photos from Public Relations should not be reprinted without prior permission. When PR photos are used, credit should be clearly given.
